Summer is almost here. It’s time to fire up the BBQ pit and make sure the backyard is in mint condition for your soon-coming visitors. Your obvious next move? Flex Seal.
● Flex Seal
● Cleaning Supplies
● Emery Cloth
● Painter’s Tape
● Drop Cloth
It comes in 12 different vibrant colors and will make your plastic furniture outback seem like brand new.
Step 1: Pick a Well-Ventilated Area.
Before doing anything, pick an area that is well-ventilated. Plastic furniture is typically found outside and not in the house. So you can easily do this project in your backyard or in your garage with the door open.
[Flex Tip: If you choose to do this project in your garage, put down a drop cloth so that you don’t get Flex Seal on unwanted areas like your garage floor.]
Step 2: Prep the Surface.
Remove any glosses from your furniture. Just scrub the gloss away with an emery cloth. Also, your furniture must be dry and clean of any oil, grease, or dirt. Grab a rag and wipe it down.
[Flex Tip: If there are any areas on your furniture that you don’t want to Flex Seal, use painter’s tape to cover it before grabbing your Flex Seal can.]
Step 3: Flex Seal It.
Spray your Flex Seal can 8 to 12 inches from each piece of furniture using an even sweeping motion. Apply several even coats until your furniture is completely covered. With 12 vibrant color options, you can pick your favorite, brightest colors to show off (and protect) your new-ish furniture.
[Flex Tip: Flex Seal is perfect for outside, plastic furniture for multiple reasons. For one, Flex Seal works best in conditions over 60°F and under 150°F. Therefore, summer’s heat is no threat. You don’t have to worry about Flex Seal dripping or sagging in the summer time.]
Step 4: Let Your Furniture Dry Properly.
One of the biggest mistakes some Flex Sealers make is that they don’t follow the Flex Seal instructions properly. We don’t want that to happen to you. Don’t forget to allow each coat to dry 24 to 48 hours before applying another coat. Give your last coat 48 hours to dry before you put your furniture to the test.
[Flex Tip: Come hellfire or a rainstorm, your Flex Seal protects your furniture. It’ll seal out any water, moisture, and air while giving a strong rubber coating.]
Step 5: Take a Seat.
Go ahead and take a seat. Flex Seal transforms into the shape of whatever you spray it on. You don’t have to worry about it peeling over time or losing its color. It’ll last for years.
Flex Seal Colors are perfect for your backyard or front porch projects. You don’t have to worry about rain damage. This liquid “rubber in a can” will keep your projects in top condition for a long time.
